UCF GeoBus – Mobile STEM Education Across Central Florida

As Director of Operations for the UCF GeoBus, this role focused on bringing hands-on STEM education directly to elementary and middle school students across Central Florida—right to their school parking lots. The GeoBus is all about access: making geospatial science and emerging technologies fun, exciting, and reachable for every student, no matter where they live.
Work included designing the full logistics of each visit, coordinating with teachers and school administrators, building out internal processes for staff, and leading the creation of lesson plans that students interact with on board. As the main point of contact for schools, this role required balancing classroom energy with behind-the-scenes coordination—often at the same time.
Technologies used on the bus ranged from Augmented Reality Sandboxes and 3D printers to solar-powered systems, VR headsets, Sphero coding robots, and interactive GIS tools like ArcGIS Field Maps and StoryMaps. Along the way, the work sharpened skills in scheduling, multitasking, team leadership, problem solving on the fly, and managing a program that literally never stands still.
