LIFT / Choice Neighborhoods Project
As a Graduate Research Assistant, this role supported a collaboration between the Institute for Social and Behavioral Sciences, Lift Orlando, and the Orlando Housing Authority as part of a HUD Choice Neighborhoods grant. The project focuses on hearing directly from residents and gathering input from over 200 community members across two OHA neighborhoods about what matters most to them and what changes they hope to see during upcoming renovations.
Work included translating the structured survey into Spanish and conducting in-person interviews with Spanish-speaking residents, ensuring that language was never a barrier to participation. The goal was simple but powerful: center the voices of those who live there and ensure their priorities help shape the future of their neighborhoods.
